Lugo wasn’t deterred though- he knew that he needed to be prepared for the next catastrophe. So, he started stocking up on food, water, and emergency supplies. He also invested in a security system and learning self-defense techniques.

Now, at 31 years old, Lugo has lived through four major disasters: a tornado that destroyed his home and business in 2011; Hurricane Sandy in 2012; an EF5 tornado in 2013 that killed 26 people near his home; and another tornado last year that hit his town again.
